Toilets

We are very lucky to have working composting toilets, thanks to some very dedicated volunteers.

The toilets can't handle anything but a very small amount of paper - if you put anything else down them (tampons, wet wipes, candy wrappers, ...) our volunteers have to fish it out.  Please don't make them do that.

For a poo, you only need a small amount of wood chips - extra just clogs the toilet.

After use, close the lid.  This keeps them from venting directly into the toilet block.

Children must only use the toilet under supervision, and parents should check and possibly clean afterwards. We have many problems with children shoving too much paper down the toilet.

We are currently providing hand sanitiser and in times of high Covid and flu expect you to wipe down areas that are commonly touched.

Our toilet maintenance volunteers save us a fortune - if you see them at work, please thank them.  The volunteers have kept the toilets going for a long time through careful repair.  We do expect to have to buy new ones soon, and are discussing how we can deal with such a big expense.
